Saudi Arabia Responds To “Greater Israel” Plan

Saudi Arabia has strongly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reported plan for a “Greater Israel,” calling it a violation of Palestinian rights and international law.

A cabinet meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman condemned the proposal and urged the international community, including permanent members of the UN Security Council, to intervene.

Officials said swift action was needed to halt what they described as ongoing atrocities against Palestinians.

The meeting also expressed deep concern over Israel’s settlement activities, particularly around occupied Jerusalem. Ministers stressed that such actions undermine peace efforts and escalate tensions in the region.

Reaffirming its long-standing policy, the Saudi government reiterated support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent and sovereign state. It said that any durable solution must be based on international law and respect for historical rights.

Riyadh has consistently maintained that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without recognising Palestine as a free state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
