Liverpool Star Dominates Player of the Year Honours

Mohamed Salah has become the first footballer to claim the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year award three times, capping another remarkable season with Liverpool.

The Egyptian forward was at the heart of Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, scoring 29 goals and assisting 18 more as the club secured their 20th English league crown with games to spare. His previous PFA triumphs came in 2018 and 2022.

Salah, 33, has also collected the Football Writers’ Association and Premier League Player of the Year prizes in recent months, underlining his dominance in English football.

Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and summer signing Milos Kerkez joined him in the PFA Team of the Year. Arsenal were also strongly represented, with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice all included.

Nottingham Forest’s goalkeeper Matz Sels and striker Chris Wood earned recognition, while Newcastle’s Alexander Isak was rewarded for finishing second in the Golden Boot race.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was named Young Player of the Year after breaking into the England squad.

In the women’s game, Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey secured Player of the Year for her outstanding first season, where she scored 19 goals and inspired the Gunners’ Champions League triumph. New Arsenal signing Olivia Smith collected the women’s Young Player of the Year after excelling at Liverpool.
