Books Keep Imran Khan Engaged During Jail Stay
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan is using his time in Adiala Jail to focus on reading and study.
Known for his interest in politics and history, Khan is said to be making the most of his confinement by deepening his knowledge of philosophy, history, and world events.
Sources close to the PTI chief shared that several books have been delivered to him through his lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, with the jail authorities confirming their receipt.

These books include classics and contemporary works such as The Black Jacobins by CLR James, On Palestine by Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappé, Reopening Muslim Minds by Mustafa Akyol, The Life of Salahuddin Ayyubi by Baha al-Din ibn Shaddad, Caliphate by Hugh Kennedy, and Lost Islamic History by Firas Alkhateeb.
Observers say the selection reflects Khan’s longstanding fascination with historical movements, Islamic thought, and political struggles. As an Oxford graduate, he is known for his interest in reading, and incarceration has given him uninterrupted time to revisit subjects that shape his political outlook.
Meanwhile, the court order regarding the Toshakhana case hearings has also been made public. Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjumand directed that lawyers with proper documentation and family members waiting outside the jail should be allowed to attend future hearings.
