Actor Nabeel Zafar Calls Inflation Unbearable

Pakistani actor, director and producer Nabeel Zafar has raised concerns about the worsening economic conditions in the country, particularly the soaring electricity bills that he believes have become unbearable for the average citizen.

During an appearance on Suno TV’s talk show Suno To Sahi, Zafar discussed how inflation has reached a point where it is no longer manageable. Referring to the high cost of electricity, he said that the bills have become so extreme that seeing them could cause serious distress to anyone.

He shared that due to frequent power consumption at home, he often jokes with his younger brother that he feels like their late father, as he finds himself reminding everyone to turn off unnecessary lights and fans. This, he said, is now common behaviour in households facing rising utility costs.

Reflecting on personal loss, Zafar recalled the passing of his father during his youth and how the absence deepened his bond with his mother. He mentioned that the true value of parents is often only realised once they are gone, something he came to understand only after experiencing it himself.

He also addressed the energy crisis and said he had installed solar panels at his home to reduce dependence on the national power grid. However, cloudy weather in Karachi sometimes disrupts the system’s efficiency. On such days, he said, he finds himself wishing the clouds would either rain or move away.

Towards the end of the interview, Zafar criticised the current state of the economy and highlighted how daily life has become more difficult.
