AI Steps In as Lahore Battles Dust and Smog
Lahore is preparing to deploy a first-of-its-kind smart fleet of vehicles aimed at fighting smog using artificial intelligence and real-time monitoring systems.
The Punjab Environment Department has confirmed that 15 dust suppression vehicles are now ready for use, following successful testing.
The project is part of a larger effort by the provincial government to use technology in solving environmental problems.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to lead the launch ceremony later this month.
The high-tech vehicles are equipped with AI features and satellite connectivity, enabling them to detect pollution spikes and spray water automatically to reduce dust particles in the air.
Each vehicle can cover a 120-meter radius and is built to operate in heavily polluted urban areas.
Real-time air monitoring devices installed in each unit will provide continuous updates to environmental authorities, helping to track progress and direct action where it’s needed most.
