Electricity Bills to Drop Across Pakistan
NEPRA has announced a significant reduction in power tariffs, offering relief to millions of consumers across the country. The move comes under the quarterly adjustment for April to June 2025.
According to NEPRA’s decision, electricity rates have been cut by Rs1.89 per unit, a change that will apply from August to October 2025. This reduction will benefit users of all power distribution companies (DISCOs), including K-Electric customers in Karachi.
However, the relief will not apply to lifeline users and those on prepaid meters, who fall under different subsidy schemes.

Authorities estimate that the adjustment will lead to total savings of Rs55.87 billion for consumers over the three-month period.
In a separate development, NEPRA also announced a 78 paisa per unit reduction under the monthly fuel adjustment for June 2025. This change will reflect in electricity bills issued in August, though K-Electric users are excluded from this particular relief.
The decisions follow requests made by power companies during a public hearing held on 4 August. The quarterly adjustment mechanism allows changes in tariffs based on fuel prices and other economic factors.
