Herbal Remedy Shows Promise for BP
A recent study has revealed that drinking hibiscus tea may help reduce high blood pressure—particularly when consumed consistently at a specific time of day.
The research, published in the Journal of Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology and Research, explored how hibiscus tea affects people with stage one hypertension, the early stage of high blood pressure. This condition, if left untreated, can lead to more serious health issues.
The study involved 46 patients who had all been diagnosed with stage one hypertension. Participants were split into two groups. Both were given the same guidance on diet and lifestyle, but only one group was asked to drink two cups of hibiscus tea every morning for a month.

At the beginning and end of the trial, researchers recorded blood pressure readings. They found that while both groups showed improvement, the group that drank hibiscus tea saw a more noticeable drop in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
There were no major differences between the two groups in terms of age or body weight.
The findings suggest that regular morning intake of hibiscus tea, alongside healthy habits, may support better blood pressure management.
