Arij Fatyma Opens Up on Four-Month Cancer Struggle

Former Pakistani television actress Arij Fatyma has announced her recovery from a rare and aggressive form of cancer, sharing details of her four-month struggle for the first time.

In a video posted on Instagram, the Hassad star revealed she had been diagnosed with choriocarcinoma, a cancer that develops from uterine tissue and can spread quickly to other parts of the body.

The disease often occurs after a molar pregnancy, when abnormal tissue grows instead of a normal foetus.

Fatyma said her life had been going smoothly before the diagnosis, which changed everything within hours. She described the battle as a fight for survival, unsure if she would make it through.

During treatment, she underwent major surgery but chose to keep the news private to avoid public judgment.

The actress explained that her illness had a profound impact on her family, who stood by her throughout the ordeal. She advised her followers not to rely on appearances on social media when forming opinions about others, and to take their health seriously.

She urged people to seek medical help promptly if they notice any unusual symptoms, rather than trying home remedies.

Although she is now cancer-free, Fatyma will continue follow-up tests for years to ensure the disease does not return. She said the fear of recurrence keeps her grounded and reminds her of the importance of living meaningfully.

Fatyma left the entertainment industry in 2019, two years after marrying Dr Uzair Ali. She now resides in Ohio, USA, with her husband and their two sons, and requested her followers to keep her in their prayers.
