Pakistan Becomes 100th Partner for Micronesia
Pakistan and the Federated States of Micronesia have officially established diplomatic relations, marking a new chapter in their engagement.
The agreement was signed in New York at Pakistan’s Mission to the United Nations by Ambassador Aasim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, and Ambassador Jeem S. Lippwe of Micronesia.
Senior diplomats, including Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Aasim Iftikhar Ahmad said it was meaningful to formalise ties on Pakistan’s Independence Day, describing it as a step towards deeper cooperation.
He noted that the partnership would focus on climate change, human resource development, and global peace initiatives. He also highlighted that Pakistan became the 100th country to formalise diplomatic relations with Micronesia.
Ambassador Jeem S. Lippwe welcomed the development, expressing pride in beginning a new friendship with Pakistan. He thanked Islamabad for its support at the UN and voiced hope for closer collaboration.
Before the signing, both sides discussed possible areas of cooperation, including coordination at multilateral forums.
