Durefishan Denies Secret Wedding Claims

Television star Durefishan Saleem has denied claims suggesting she secretly married fellow actor Bilal Abbas Khan, calling the reports groundless and part of a rising trend of unverified news in the entertainment industry.

Speaking in a recent interview, Durefishan addressed the rumours that had gained traction online over the past year. She stated that such claims lacked any basis and that if something as significant as marriage had occurred, images or proof would have surfaced publicly.

The actress, known for her breakout role in Ishq Murshid, clarified that her bond with Bilal Abbas Khan was purely professional. She explained that while they shared a positive working relationship and were often seen joking and laughing on set, the chemistry was limited to their characters.

The speculation intensified after a YouTuber claimed that the two had secretly married. The rumour spread quickly, partly due to their onscreen pairing and shared appearances during promotional events for their drama series.

Durefishan stopped short of naming specific platforms but criticised some local content creators for sharing baseless personal information. She stressed that marriage is a private matter, but if it had actually happened, there would be no reason to keep it hidden from the public.

She expressed concern over the growing tendency in Pakistani media to echo styles of gossip journalism seen in India, where facts are often overlooked in favour of sensational content.
