Most Firms Still Rely on Multi-Vendor Cybersecurity, Kaspersky Finds

A new Kaspersky study has found that most companies still operate in complex multi-vendor cybersecurity environments, despite the operational and financial burdens they create.

The report, Improving Resilience: Cybersecurity Through System Immunity, surveyed organisations in the Middle East, Turkiye, Africa, Europe, Russia, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific. It revealed that 72% of firms rely on multiple security providers rather than a single integrated platform.

Almost half of the security professionals surveyed described their systems as overly complex and time-consuming to maintain, making it harder to react to cyber threats quickly. Compatibility gaps between tools often prevent automation, with 41% saying they still rely on manual processes, increasing the risk of human error.

Budgetary pressure is also a concern — 42% of respondents reported overspending due to overlapping products, while 39% faced inconsistent threat visibility as data from different vendors failed to align.

Despite the drawbacks, just over a quarter of companies have moved to a single-vendor model. However, nearly half believe one provider could meet their needs, and the research suggests momentum is shifting: 86% of organisations are now planning or implementing consolidation strategies.

Kaspersky says integrated platforms can simplify management, reduce costs and improve security coverage. The company recommends automated solutions, such as its Next XDR Expert system, which centralises threat detection and speeds up response times.
