PDMA Alerts Punjab as Rains Persist
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has released a new update on the ongoing monsoon rains, reporting widespread rainfall across several districts over the past 24 hours.
According to the PDMA’s fact sheet, Gujrat received the highest rainfall at 86mm, followed by 37mm in Narowal, 28mm in Multan, 27mm in Dera Ghazi Khan, and 22mm in Jhelum. Other areas including Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Murree, Mianwali, and Kot Addu also experienced moderate rainfall.
Officials warned that more rain is expected in most parts of Punjab within the next 24 hours, with the sixth spell likely to last until Thursday. PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has urged local authorities to stay alert during this critical period.

Currently, a low-level flood is ongoing in the Indus River at Tarbela, while the water flow at Kalabagh, Chashma, and Taunsa remains stable. Rivers Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, and Sutlej are also flowing at normal levels. Tarbela Dam is now 95% full, Mangla Dam at 62%, and Indian dams are reported to be 56% full.
Since the start of the monsoon season, 164 people have died in rain-related incidents. In the last 24 hours alone, three people were injured due to weather-related accidents.
