PSX slips slightly as volumes drop
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed slightly in the red on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index slipping by 37.67 points, or 0.03%, to settle at 146,491.63 points compared to 146,529.31 points a day earlier.
Market activity slowed as trading volumes fell to 473.6 million shares, down from 647.09 million in the previous session. The total value of traded shares also declined, amounting to Rs. 32.88 billion compared with Rs. 40.89 billion on Thursday.
Out of 479 companies that traded, 226 posted gains, 219 registered losses, while 34 remained unchanged.

Aisha Steel Mill led the volume chart with 30.02 million shares changing hands at Rs. 13.47 per share. It was followed by Media Times Limited, which traded 21.70 million shares at Rs. 3.62 per share, and Air Link Communication, with 19.88 million shares at Rs. 168.04 per share.
On the gainers’ list, Hoechst Pakistan Limited posted the highest increase, rising by Rs. 280.91 to close at Rs. 3,506.71 per share. Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited came second, adding Rs. 41.00 to reach Rs. 32,000.00 per share.
On the other hand, PIA Holding Company Limited saw the steepest decline, losing Rs. 856.90 to end at Rs. 27,814.97 per share. Nestle Pakistan Limited followed with a drop of Rs. 103.97, settling at Rs. 8,654.09 per share.
