The announcement follows the feature’s international success. Tiktok had originally launched it in March 2023 in the United States. The STEM Feed has since rolled out across Europe, the UK, Canada, Sub‑Saharan Africa, Saudi Arabia, Australia and other markets, according to TikTok, Newsroom | TikTok.
Since its broader expansion in late 2024, the feed has become default for all TikTok users in regions such as the US, UK, Ireland and Canada, with content consumption growing globally by around 35% and nearly 10 to 15 million STEM‑related videos published over the past three years (Newsroom | TikTok).
The STEM Feed curates videos from trusted creators, educators and verified institutions, with all content reviewed via a multi‑layer process in coordination with Common Sense Networks and the Poynter Institute. It ensures both appropriateness and factual accuracy.
TikTok’s regional leadership has cited strong community demand: “Almost 10 million STEM‑themed videos have been published globally in the last three years,”.
The feature has proven especially successful in driving engagement and creative learning, reveals Arab News. In Saudi Arabia, where the feature debuted in the MENA region in early 2025, TikTok partnered with platforms like Majarra to localise Arabic STEM content and support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
In Sub‑Saharan Africa, the program rolled out across 20+ countries with fact‑checking support from Common Sense Networks and Poynter.

Background & Impact
TikTok’s STEM Feed initiative has become a global learning platform. Content viewing among teens has surged—25–33% engage with STEM content weekly in markets where the feed is live. The program emphasizes credible and engaging educational content while offering young learners a creative outlet to explore complex subjects.
Experts note TikTok’s intent to reposition itself beyond entertainment, offering learners tools to explore STEM fields in accessible formats. This comes in part as a response to broader scrutiny of the platform’s impact on mental health and addictive design practices—asserting the STEM Feed as evidence of TikTok’s commitment to positive and educational user experience.
