Traffic Fines Made Easier with New Digital System
The Safe Cities Authority has introduced major updates to its e-challan system, making it easier for citizens to check and pay traffic fines using their mobile phones.
Officials said the earlier process, which required people to send emails for corrections and inquiries, has been scrapped. Under the new system, all challans will be sent directly to registered phone numbers via WhatsApp.
Motorists will now be able to view the total number of fines issued against them, along with camera images capturing the traffic violations, directly on their devices. A secure link will also be provided for quick payments.

In addition, the Safe Cities website has been upgraded with a dedicated “Review” option for each challan.
Through this feature, citizens can submit requests for corrections, which will be reviewed by a technical team. If the claim is found valid, the incorrect challan will be cancelled immediately.
Authorities stressed that the initiative is designed to improve transparency and public convenience. Multiple payment options will remain available, including through the official website.
